Raspberry (Purple) - Royalty

Royalty is known as the best purple raspberry variety for eating. The large, firm berries can be picked and eaten when red, however they will develop sweeter and more intense falvour if left to ripen to their royal purple color. This variety (a cross between red-black raspberries) is disease-resistant makes an ideal jelly, jam or can be frozen. It also has a suckering growth habit similar to red raspberries, but slightly less rampant. Each cane is two years old.
 
Harvest time is Mid-Late July.
